Around Town

Take a leisurely stroll along the 2.5 km long Cairns Esplanade and cool off by the brand new swimming lagoon. This is one of Cairns' best places to relax in the sun or to enjoy a BBQ with friends.

Wander around the Cairns CBD and you’ll find many souvenir and craft shops selling all types of interesting keepsakes. The major shopping centres in the City are Cairns Central, which is a short walk down Shields Street and The Pier Market Place, close to the new Lagoon across from the Pacific International Hotel.

Markets are a great place to find interesting locally produced items. The product range is huge and ranges from jewellery and pottery to all sorts of artwork, clothes, homemade food and unique Australian goods.

In Cairns both Cairns Night Markets (open every night from 4:00pm to 11:00pm) and Rusty's Markets (open every Fri and Sat from 7:00am to 3:00pm) are within a 10 minute walk of the hotel.
